Palliative Care Services

Our palliative care service provides sensitive, person-centred support for those living with life-limiting conditions.

Compassionate End-of-Life Support with Dignity and Respect

At GN Wellsprings, we understand that palliative care is more than just support at the end of life—it’s about enhancing comfort, dignity, and quality of life for individuals facing life-limiting or terminal conditions. Our role is to walk alongside clients and their families during this delicate journey, providing practical help, emotional reassurance, and a calm, comforting presence every step of the way.

We work closely with families, GPs, district nurses, hospices, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that your loved one receives holistic, person-centred support in the familiar surroundings of their own home.

What We Provide

Our palliative care service is tailored to the unique needs and wishes of each individual. While our carers are not clinical staff, they are specially trained to carry out non-medical tasks that contribute to comfort, dignity, and emotional wellbeing.

Emotional and Practical Support

  • Being a calm, reassuring presence for the client and their loved ones

  • Providing companionship and gentle conversation

  • Offering a listening ear to family members during challenging moments

  • Supporting families with day-to-day routines so they can focus on precious time together

Personal Care

  • Assistance with washing, dressing, toileting, and continence care

  • Help with repositioning for comfort and pressure care

  • Ensuring privacy and dignity in all aspects of care

Specialist Non-Clinical Support

Our carers are trained in supporting some practical aspects of specialist care needs, under the guidance or instruction of clinical professionals:

  • Catheter Care

    • Emptying and changing catheter bags

    • Monitoring for signs of discomfort or infection and reporting concerns to medical professionals

  • Ileostomy and Colostomy Care

    • Emptying and changing stoma bags as part of routine care

    • Supporting stoma hygiene and ensuring skin is clean and dry

    • Monitoring for leakage, discomfort, or changes and escalating appropriately

Note: All complex clinical tasks such as wound care, administering injections, or managing medication changes are always referred to qualified nurses or medical staff. We maintain close communication with local healthcare teams to ensure safety and compliance.
